Dear Friends of the College of Continuing Studies,I regret to inform you that the College of Continuing Studies has suspended operations. This was not an easy decision but it was the right decision for the University at this time. The College began offering classes in January 2009, shortly after Hurricane Katrina, and continued to offer a wide variety of both on-campus and on-line courses through the spring 2010. We were very fortunate to have attracted great students, instructors and partners and I am very proud of all that has been accomplished.I want to say to those of you who have taken classes; thank you for your support. You have learned about retirement and financial planning, dancing, C.S. Lewis, Shakespeare, cooking, language, travel and much more. To our instructors, I only hope you have enjoyed teaching in the College as much as we have enjoyed having you in our classrooms. To all of our friends, it has been a delight to welcome you to our campus and we hope you will continue to enjoy the many events hosted on our campus. You will find a calendar of activities at www.hbu.edu/hbu/Calendars.asp At this point, the intention is for the University to continue to offer a few of the College of Continuing Studies’ specialty programs including The Princeton Review, Becker CPA Review and The Institute for Reading Development Summer Reading Program. These programs will be coordinated by the Office of University Events and Conferences. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. With kindest regards, Rita Tauer Dean, College of Continuing Studies |
